However, over time, the implementation of the KRA Program is not without problems. One of the problems is the high population dynamics and mobility and the density of personal activities which are one of the causes of several KRA Villages experiencing stagnation in their activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of the KRA Program in the Child-Friendly Village of RW 16, Karanganyar Brontokusuman Mergangsan Village, Yogyakarta City. This study uses a qualitative approach with informants from the KRA Task Force administrators and several related agencies. Triangulation techniques are used to test the validity of the data obtained before being presented. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the KRA Program in Karanganyar Village RW 16 in 5 (five) clusters has not been running well. The implementation model from Edwards III shows the existence of communication factors, resources, implementer attitudes, and bureaucratic structures that are less than optimal in supporting program implementation. The decline in communication and coordination between administrators since 2020 due to their busy schedules is one of the contributing factors. Furthermore, limited program funding sources also hamper the implementation of the KRA program. Government funding remains severely limited. Government assistance is provided primarily in the form of counseling and mentoring. To support funding, efforts have been made to raise funds from community contributions, but the amounts are relatively small. The business sector has also provided assistance in the form of goods or facilities.

Keywords: Program Implementation; Child-Friendly Villages; Child Protection.
Apriliyani Apriliyani Suwarjo Suwarjo Copyright (c) 2026 Apriliyani Apriliyani , suwarjo suwarjo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-01-29 2026-01-29 14 1 17 40 10.37631/populika.v14i1.2178 Dampak Penggunaan Alsintan Pada Kondisi Sosial Ekonomi Petani Kalurahan Jambidan Kapanewon Banguntapan https://ejournal.widyamataram.ac.id/index.php/populika/article/view/2164
The community of Jambidan Village, Banguntapan Subdistrict, is predominantly engaged in rice farming. Farmers apply both traditional and modern rice planting and harvesting systems. The modern system utilizes agricultural machinery (Alsintan), such as rice transplanters for planting and combine harvesters for harvesting. This study aims to analyze the social and economic impacts of Alsintan utilization on farmers and farm laborers in Jambidan Village. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and further expanded through snowball sampling, resulting in six informants consisting of Alsintan users, traditional farmers, and farm laborers. Data were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured using triangulation techniques. The results indicate that the use of Alsintan provides significant economic benefits for farmers by increasing efficiency in labor and production costs. For every 1,000 m² of land, farmers using Alsintan save approximately Rp250,000. However, the adoption of mechanized tools also has adverse social and economic impacts on farm laborers, particularly a reduction in employment opportunities and income. The number of laborers required decreases from 13 to 6 workers per 1,000 m² in one planting cycle, resulting in a loss of employment for seven workers. This transformation contributes to the decline of traditional rice planting and harvesting systems and affects the social conditions of rural laborers.

Keywords: Alsintan; Agricultur mechanization; Farm labor; Rural society; Socio-economic change

Zulianti Zulianti Nelly Tiurmida Copyright (c) 2026 Zulianti Zulianti, Nelly Tiurmida https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-01-29 2026-01-29 14 1 41 55 Between Opportunity and Vulnerability: Women’s Access to the Creative Economy in the Coastal Village of Taman Ayu https://ejournal.widyamataram.ac.id/index.php/populika/article/view/2230
Women's participation in the creative economy is a crucial aspect of achieving inclusive local development, particularly in coastal areas that have a high level of exposure to disaster risks. This study aims to analyze women's access to the creative economy sector and identify the opportunities and vulnerabilities they face in the context of disaster risks in the coastal village of Taman Ayu. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the Gender-Sensitive Sustainable Livelihoods Framework, which integrates gender analysis with disaster vulnerability assessment. The findings reveal that women play a significant role in supporting household income and sustaining community livelihoods through creative economy activities; however, their participation remains constrained by limited access to capital, skill development, and institutional support. On the other hand, women's involvement in creative economy activities serves as an adaptive strategy that strengthens the social and economic resilience of coastal communities to disaster risks. Therefore, this study concludes that strengthening women's capacity and improving their access to economic resources through inclusive and gender-responsive programs are essential to promoting resilient and sustainable coastal village development.

Keywords: Women’s Participation; Creative Economy; Gender; Coastal Community; Disaster Risk
Hulwatul Izmi Copyright (c) 2026 Hulwatul Izmi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-01-29 2026-01-29 14 1 56 74 10.37631/populika.v14i1.2230 Understanding Doctoral Struggles: A Multi-Disciplinary Case Study of Methodological and Institutional Challenges https://ejournal.widyamataram.ac.id/index.php/populika/article/view/2028
Doctoral students across disciplines frequently encounter methodological difficulties that can delay progress, affect research quality, and contribute to attrition; however, empirical, cross-disciplinary studies that explain why these challenges occur and how they are shaped by institutional contexts remain limited. This study explores the methodological challenges doctoral candidates face across four disciplines: Business Administration (DBA), Computer Science (DCS), Science (DSc), and Arts (DA), and examines how disciplinary norms, supervisory practices, and institutional structures shape these experiences. Using an explanatory multi-case study approach, nine doctoral candidates were purposefully selected to represent diverse disciplinary and institutional backgrounds. Data were gathered through semi-structured interviews and analysis of key research documents and were examined thematically to identify recurring patterns and contextual influences. The findings reveal both discipline-specific challenges, such as differing assumptions about knowledge and research design, and cross-cutting issues, including misaligned supervision, constraints on ethical approval, emotional strain, and limited institutional support. By comparing cases across disciplines, the study highlights how contextual factors contribute to these difficulties and, in some instances, help mitigate them. Based on these insights, the study offers practical recommendations, including clearer alignment of supervisory roles, earlier and more structured methodological and ethical training, and increased access to interdisciplinary research support. Overall, this research contributes empirical evidence to the doctoral education literature and underscores the need for systemic improvements to enhance doctoral students’ research experiences and outcomes.

Keywords: Case Study; Methodology Challenges; Research Methodology.
Aida Mehrad Narsimha Rao Dandala Nduka Rapheal Ejeh Saher Yusuf Juliet Ukamaka Okpara Nimisha S Wirngo Peter Ayukea Hellen Mukami Munyi Abdulkarim Abdullah AlHussaini Copyright (c) 2026 Aida Mehrad, Narsimha Rao Dandala, Nduka Rapheal Ejeh, Saher Yusuf, Juliet Ukamaka Okpara, Nimisha S, Wirngo Peter Ayukea, Hellen Mukami Munyi, Abdulkarim Abdullah AlHussaini https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2026-01-30 2026-01-30 14 1 75 94 10.37631/populika.v14i1.2028
